About TheAIMeta

In gaming, "the meta" is the best strategy right now. TheAIMeta tracks the meta for building with AI: which tools vibe coders and builders should actually use today, for which job, at what price.

Our rule: paid placement never affects rankings

Rankings, ratings, comparisons and verdicts are editorial. Vendors cannot pay to be listed, to rank higher, or to change a review. Some links are affiliate links; they never affect rankings. If we ever sell sponsorships, they will be clearly labelled as sponsored and kept separate from rankings.

How we research and rate (current method)

  1. Primary sources first. Descriptions, features and pricing come from each tool's own website, pricing page and docs. Every tool page links to its pricing source and shows the date we checked it.
  2. No invented pricing. If we can't verify a price on the vendor's site, we mark it unknown rather than guess.
  3. Editorial rating (0–5). We score fit for vibe coders and builders: speed to a working result, output quality, control and code ownership, ecosystem, and value for money.
  4. Preliminary flag. Today all 88 ratings are marked preliminary: they are based on product research, not yet on our own standardised hands-on tests.
  5. Freshness. Each entry has a "last updated" date. Pricing in this space changes monthly, so we re-check key tools often and log notable releases on the New releases page.

Hands-on testing (rolling out)

We're moving every ranking to standard test tasks per category, so tools are compared on the same job. For example, "build a to-do app with auth" for app builders, or "ship a Stripe checkout" for builder tools. For each test we'll record time to a working result, cost, and screenshots, and publish the method alongside the results. When a rating is based on hands-on testing, its "preliminary" label is removed.
